Butterfly Birthday Cake Ideas

One really simple idea is to bake a round cake, cut it in half, and flip each half so the inside seam faces outside. These are the wings of the butterfly.
Place three or four Oreo cookies in the middle of the wings for the butterfly’s body. You can trim the wings, if you like, to make them look more butterfly-like, or leave them as is and use frosting to make them more butterfly-ish.
You can add licorice sticks for antennas. If you want a really colorful butterfly, then you can add edible, colorful sprinkles to the wings. Voila! You now have a lovely butterfly cake.
