Supplies needed to make a Dinosaur Volcano Cake:
2 Boxes Devil’s Food Moist Cake Mix
1/2 Cup Butter
1 Tablespoon Milk
2 1/2 Cups Confectioners’ Sugar
Green Coloring
Brown Coloring
Red Gel Decorating Icing
Plastic Dinosaurs
Green Sprinkles
Directions:
Mix cake mixes according to directions on box. Bake one of the mixes in a rectangular pan. Bake the other mix in a dome shaped pan.
When the cakes have cooled, ice the rectangular cake with green icing. The icing odes not have to be smooth. This portion is the grass and ground. Use a variety of shades of green and whip the icing up to appear as bushes and grass.
Turn the dome cake upside down on one end of the rectangular cake. Ice this cake brown. It is the volcano.
Again the icing should not be smooth. Add touches of black if desired for texture.
Use the red gel to create lava down the volcano.
Place the dinosaur figures on the cake. Example of volcano cake before the dinosaurs arrive:
