Many people watch on television the large contests with professional cake decorators and are left in awe of what they can do with cake. Is it possible to still find easy and unique cake decorating ideas at home?

Yes, of course! Simply take a stroll through your baking isle at your favorite market and look for the sprinkles, mini- chips, pre-made edible items. There are even online decorating sites with more ideas for pre-made sprinkles that you can imagine.

However, to simply use your local market can still bring many unique fun decorating to your cakes and cupcakes. Flattened Mini-marshmallows can make a spooky Halloween cake while using slivers of black licorice for the eyes (you can even spray the marshmallows with edible coloring, such as the blue ones in the image below). These spooky delights can top a chocolate iced cake and haunt an edible graveyard made with crushed Oreo’s for dirt, Lady Finger cookies for tombstones, and use a ready-to-use icing tube to pipe R.I.P. Also, don’t forget a greeting for the cake, if you wish.
