Giant Cupcake Cake for 1st Birthday

Aw, who wouldn’t want to celebrate a birthday with a giant cupcake cake?  I would!

This adorable cake was made with a giant cupcake cake pan.  You bake the cake in two pieces, the cupcake bottom half, and the cupcake topper half.  After they have cooled, you “glue” them together with frosting, then decorate the top half with lots more frosting.  You will purposely leave the bottom portion unfrosted, as cupcakes do not have frosting there.

You can decorate the frosting any way you want.  A decorative tip was used for the picture below, but you don’t have to be that fancy.  If you like, you can add sprinkles, confetti (the edible kind), candles, or any other decorative touches that you desire.

The giant cupcake cake is a cake decorating idea that is easy to do but looks harder than it is.

Can you tell me which tip you used for this?

Michelle,

I wasn’t the one who made this cake, so I’m not sure. However, it looks like a fairly large sized tip, if that helps.
