I Am Looking for Cake Decorating Supplies. Can Anyone Share Inexpensive Websites to Find a Good Variety?

I recently started taking cake decorating classes and would like to expand to “theme” cakes. I hope to start selling cakes soon. Can anyone give me a few good inexpensive websites that I can purchase cake kit supplies? Any other suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!

There are some at: http://www.thesimplefeast.com/baking-essentials.html. The items featured are from a variety of vendors, all of whom should have the types of supplies you’re looking for. Good luck!

Ask your instructor about local places first. They would all be able to help you get started and good recommendations etc. Then when you know what you want and what you’re looking for, you’ll be good to go.

Most craft stores have a decent line of cake decorating supplys available and I would say the Wiltons web site might be a good one too.
Shop local first as there isn’t any shipping involved and no waiting for anything to arrive in the mail. http://www.wilton.com/store/site/index.cfm

Edit: Forgot to add that looking for cheap supplies is not the best thing to do. If you have to replace it often, you really didn’t save any money. Get the best quality supplies and start slow, a few basic items should get you started and you can add to your supplies as you find a need for them.
You can do an awful lot with asturdy icing bags and a few popular tips and spatulas and the knowledge to use them.

If you live in an area where there is a large craft store like Hobby Lobby or Michaels, they have cake decorating supplied. Also, you can go to the Wilton website at http://www.wilton.com.

I agree with craft store idea. JCPenney also sells Wilton, I think. Also try Smart N Final – they have good prices on decorating tip sets.
