Rainbow Cake
Here is a cake that has got me flummoxed. Such beautiful colors! Yet, I’m not sure I could replicate this without either endless attempts to get a rainbow or have a yucky grey or brown cake.
My guess is that various food coloring colors were added, spaced apart from each other in the batter, then VERY gently, and slowly, swirled together. Possibly a knife was used to mix the colors.
The trick would be to mix slightly, just enough to get the colors in the batter, without mixing colors together.
Another guess is to separate the batter into small bowls, then add a different color to each bowl. Mix each color thoroughly into each bowl. Once each individual color is mixed, you would probably then combine the colors, VERY carefully, into a baking pan, and gently swirl the colors (with a knife or toothpick) to create the rainbow affect.
My second guess is probably the correct one, as that would more likely create a rainbow effect instead of a muddy colored cake.
If any of you have tried this, kindly share your techniques.

We do these with cupcakes and yes you separate the batter into bowls and add food coloring to each bowl then you put the colors one at a time into the greased pan then take a tooth pick and move it around very little to cause a marble effect. you can also drop colors in pan and keep layering them on one another without using the toothpick for a more uniformed rainbow.
